Government

Leadership – It takes real leadership to drive institutional change, and that leadership begins with citizens who are committed to working together for the common good.

  • Create a pool of funds that can be tapped into by local and regional governments to support start up costs of real collaboration such as those identified in The Regional Governing of Metropolitan America by David Miller
  • Increase the region’s share of federal funding across the board
  • Look for and exploit opportunities to commercialize economic development efforts such that they become self-sustaining or “sunset” when appropriate commercial mechanisms emerge to replace them.
  • Ensure that all government structures support and facilitate diversity and inclusion both in our leadership and our policies
